The most simple and basic reaction is using less of everything. But without changes that leads to less prosperity and less welfare. Reduction and conservation are important, but are not capable to change any substantial size in demand. Reduction will always be powered by economic reasons: current level becomes to expensive. Reduction is not the answer, it's the result.
